WHEN AND WHY?
The United Nations Children’s Fund aka UNICEF, was founded on December 11th 1946 in New York City, New York, United States by the United Nations. UNICEF was founded in order to feed, clothe and offer health care to children across the globe.
Once the Second World War was over, many children faced a scarcity of food and suffered from plenty of diseases, therefore someone had to act fast, and that is exactly what the UN did.
